In 2019 I took part in an instagram challenge created by Adobe, called "36 days of type". Everyday for the next 36 days I had to create an illustration of one alphabet letter and post it on instagram.
For me letter shapes were just an inspiration for this series. I wanted to go back to my childhood memories, and picture the games children of the 90. played and some other aspects of kids' life back then.
The style was inspired by illustrations from an old polish book "Caroline and a magic bead" by Maria Krüger, which was one of my favorites. The author of the drawings was Halina Bielinska and I remember liking the simplicity of her characters, which she drew with a few simple shapes – a circle for the head, a triangle for the body, and legs with small pointy feet.
